Games on TAFN Communicator

Software Games

Accessible Games for the blind requiring Software, that are currently being played on the TAFN Communicator Voice Chat server are:-

In the golf game, players use VIP communicator to play the audio of their shots to eachother, and can play the same course simultaneously,

In the Monopoly game, one player plays the audio of the game output VIP through communicator whilst the others take turns.  Players' piece names, e.g. dog, boot, boat etc and dice rolls, are announced via speech. This is usually played in a full duplex chatroom, meaning players can talk live online & don't need to key up to speak, similar to skype.

TAFN Fundraising Games

Games which are played to raise funds for The Accesssible Friends Network, and are playable by members only include:-

SOME of the funds raised through these games go to the TAFN E.L.F. (Emergency Lifeline Fund).

This fund is for members in genuine desperate need and was first started in 2007, when a member of our network who is both blind and disabled and had only recently finished chemotherapy, was flooded out of her home in Hull and lost everything she had.  This is 100% true, Her name is Jill Storeyl

To raise funds to help Jill a TAFN member who recently became blind and happens to be a retired bookmaker, "Trev the Tip" organised a special race night event on our VoIp server.   The event was a phenomenal success and since that first night has taken place every year.

TAFN accessible golf

TAFN regularly hosts online multi player Golf games on the internet via our Voice Chat Server, which is accessible to blind players, using a FREE Golf game from Kitchens Inc.   The game is an audio golf game with no graphics, 2 blind players load up the same course and play it together, hearing eachothers' shots and putts and talking between them.  CAUTION HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!

A new league has recently started with over 30 players, and there are regular tournaments as well as friendly games too.   Visit our Golf Zone to find out more!

We also have a regular & busy schedule of entertainment events via our screen reader-friendly VoIp server, including music, quizzes, talk programmes, computer training and more.  Many events are in high quality stereo!
